DATCHET

GENERAL
There is evidence of a settlement at Datchet from prehistoric times at Southlea farm, but the development of the village depended on its situation on the bank of the Thames opposite Windsor Castle. A ferry crossing from the Castle to the foot of the present high street provided a rapid route through the village to Colnbrook, on the main road to London.

This delightful village has two public houses and two hotels.

Train services to London Waterloo take less than 50 minutes.
560 bus service runs to Slough westwards and to the east Staines
